Ian was already ill when he took part in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as a mad professor, and though his part was small and below his competencies (he had the most wonderful singing voice), he gave every bit of himself with great creativity, kindness and good humour...and not just to the role, but also to the cohesion of the cast as a whole and to the manual workings of moving the set and staging...Ian was the most valuable of members...a real and genuine star. 

You will be remembered for warmth and smile.

Rest in peace Ian.  

You will not be forgotten.
